About the Role
The Financial Accountant is responsible in ensuring Aeralife’s finances are managed and recorded accurately and comply with legislative requirements under the direction of the Finance Manager.
This is a Full-time, 12-month fixed-term role based at our support office and reporting to Finance Business Partner.
Finance Operations Management
- Prepare month end journals including but not limited to month end accrual, revenue journals, payroll journals, and analysis of month end results including explanations and commentary on the results.
- Managing resident RAD/RAC refund process.
- Reconcile Medicare transactions to ensure funding and subsidy is applied accurately and liaise with Medicare and AN-ACC Funding Manager to investigate and resolve discrepancies regarding funding and subsidy.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and raise any identified control weaknesses.
- Analyse monthly billing, reviewing, and analysing fees invoiced to identify and prevent potential revenue leakage.
- Manage BAS, Payroll Tax, PAYG instalment, Superannuation, Workers Compensation, FBT and GST Reporting, ensure the group is compliant in all statutory requirements.
- Participating in preparation of Aged Care Quarterly Financial Reporting (QFR), Aged Care Financial Reporting (ACFR) and Annual Prudential Compliance Statement (APCS).
- Assists with interim and annual audit including liaising with external accountants and auditors for the preparation of year end accounts and statutory accounts.
- Any other duties as directed by your manager.

About You
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or similar
- Excellent time management and ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- A high level of proficiency using accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated competencies in financial management or accounting practices to ensure alignment to the strategic objectives of an organisation.
- Capacity to work in a results-oriented team environment, organise and prioritise duties in the provision of an effective work output.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop fit for purpose organisational financial reports, manuals, or booklets.
- Current NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll and accounts operations
Desirable
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Aged Care Industry (preferred)
